Do you do lacquer? We do not provide traditional lacquer finishing services because our home-based workspace is not set up for that. Here's why: Applying traditional lacquer is a highly toxic process, and pieces that are finished with lacquer off-gas toxic fumes for up to 30 days. So, for the health of your family, our family, and the environment, we offer alternative, high-gloss, water-based finishes instead. They do not offer the same "shell" like appearance, but they are very durable and super shiny with a high gloss, very similar to what you'd expect from a traditional lacquer finish.

Can you strip my piece to provide a more "natural" finish? We get asked this question a lot! And honestly, it varies widely depending on the type of piece and the wood its made from, as well as its existing finish. Mahogany, cherry, and any other red-leaning wood species usually don't lend themselves to a blonde/natural tone, but we can discuss white-washing/pickling/weathering techniques to achieve your desired look.

What is your turnaround time?As with most projects, it varies! Some projects may be completed within a week, while others may take up to 6 weeks. In general, we try to commit to a 4 week turnaround time. The size of your project, cure times, creative finishes, high sheens, repairs, etc. all take time. And since we're in Charleston, humidity is always a factor that can affect these things. We ask that you have a little wiggle room so that we can return to you a piece that is as durable as it is gorgeous.
