Frequently Asked Questions
We don't offer traditional lacquer finishes because our home-based workspace isn't set up for it. Traditional lacquer is highly toxic and can off-gas fumes for up to 30 days. For the health of your family, our family, and the environment, we use high-gloss, water-based finishes instead. They may not have the exact "shell" appearance of lacquer, but they're very durable and super shiny, giving a similar high-gloss look.

We get this question a lot! It really depends on the type of furniture and the wood it's made from, as well as its current finish. Mahogany, cherry, and other red-toned woods usually don't achieve a blonde/natural look, but we can explore white-washing, pickling, or weathering techniques to get the look you want.
It depends on the project! Some pieces might be ready in a week, while others could take up to 6 weeks. Generally, we aim for a 4-week turnaround. Factors like project size, cure times, creative finishes, high sheens, and repairs all play a role. Plus, Charleston's humidity can affect the process. We appreciate your patience to ensure your piece is as durable as it is beautiful!
